The Brazilian Faith Trail
The Brazilian Faith Trail
LA

Overview
Embark on a spiritual and cultural journey through Brazil, starting in São Paulo with historic city tours and the Temple of Solomon experience. Visit Aparecida for private pilgrim access to the Sanctuary, then continue to Salvador to explore the UNESCO-listed Upper City, Bonfim Basilica, and All Saints Bay. Experience the vibrant “Bahia by Night” with authentic Bahian cuisine, Capoeira, Samba de Roda, and folkloric performances. This journey beautifully blends devotion, history, and culture for an unforgettable Brazilian pilgrimage.

Day 1: London to Sao Paulo
Arrival in São Paulo for a three-night stay at the InterContinental São Paulo with breakfast.

Day 2: Sao Paulo - The Historical Roots (S Cathedral, Ptio do Colgio, So Bento Monastery)
An elegant walk through So Paulos origins, this route traces a path from the city's 16th-century Jesuit founding at the whitewashed Pátio do Colégio to the monastic serenity of São Bento, concluding beneath the towering neo-Gothic spires of the S Cathedral. It is a journey through five centuries of faith, transitioning from colonial simplicity to cathedral grandeur.

Day 3: Sao Paulo - The Temple of Solomon Experience
Morning/Afternoon: The Biblical Garden Tour. This is the "pilgrimage" highlight. It is a guided tour led by guides dressed as ancient priests. You will see a replica of the Tabernacle of Moses, the Garden of Olives with centuries-old trees imported from Israel, and a museum detailing the history of the temples in Jerusalem.
Evening: Main Sanctuary Service. The main temple holds 10,000 people and features stones imported from Israel. It is known for its solemnity and "Faith Intelligence" services.
Note: The temple has a strict dress code (modest/business casual) and does not allow the use of cell phones, cameras, or recording devices inside the sanctuary (lockers are provided).

Day 4: Sao Paulo - Aparecida
The journey from So Paulo to Aparecida is a straightforward 170km trip along the Via Dutra (BR-116), Brazil's most important highway. Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours by car. Best departure is to leave So Paulo early (before 7:00 AM) to avoid the city's notorious "exit traffic," which
can easily add an hour to your trip. Arrival in Aparecida for a two-night stay at the Hotel Rainha do Brasil with breakfast.

Day 5: Aparecida - The "Pilgrim" Perk
The hotel offers a private shuttle service that takes guests directly to the Sanctuary, saving you from navigating the busy public parking lots.

Day 6: Aparecida - Sao Paulo - Salvador
After breakfast, transfer back to Sao Paulo and fly to Salvador. Arrival in Salvador for a three-night stay at the Casa do Amarelindo Hotel with breakfast.

Day 7: Salvador - Full day Historic and Panoramic
This full-day journey explores the soulful "two cities" of Salvador, beginning in the UNESCO-listed Upper City where the gilded opulence of the São Francisco Church meets the pastel-hued cobblestones of Pelourinho. After descending via the iconic Art Deco Lacerda Elevator for a sweeping panoramic view of All Saints Bay, the route follows the coast to the Lower City, culminating at the sacred Bonfim Basilica. Here, amidst thousands of colourful wish-ribbons, the tour transitions from colonial grandeur to profound modern devotion at the Sanctuary of Saint Dulce of the Poor, offering a complete tapestry of Bahia's spiritual and architectural heritage.

Day 8: Salvador - Bahia by Night - O coliseu
In the morning, we recommend spending your morning at Porto da Barra. It was recently ranked among the best beaches in the world and is the most elegant urban stretch in the city. An evening at O Coliseu is a sensory immersion into the rhythmic soul of Bahia, set within the storied walls of a historic building in the heart of Pelourinho. This "Bahia by Night" experience begins with a refined buffet of authentic regional gastronomy, where the complex flavours of dend oil, coconut milk, and fresh seafood offer a culinary map of the state. As the night unfolds, the stage ignites with a world-class folkloric performance, weaving together the sacred movements of Candombl orixs, the gravity-defying grace of Capoeira, and the infectious joy of the Samba de Roda. It is an elegant, high-energy tribute to the African roots and colonial history that define Salvador's unique cultural identity.

Day 9: Salvador - London
May the vibrant spirit of Bahia and the sacred blessings of your pilgrimage accompany you from the golden shores of Salvador back to the timeless heart of London.
