Fri 03 Oct 25: Sigiriya/Minneriya
➤You will proceed to climb Sigiriya Rock. It is best to start the climb during the early morning hours to avoid the heat ofthe sun, Referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of World, this ancient palace and fortress complex has significantarcheological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. Sigiriya rock plateau, formed from magma ofan extinct volcano, is 200 meters higher than the surrounding jungles. Therefore proceed on a Jeep Safari at Minneriyanational park. (The afternoon Safari will commence at 2.30pm)
Minneriya is yet another haven for the elephants that migrate from surrounding jungles to enjoy the lush grass fieldson the banks of the Minneriya reservoir, during the dry season. Reports of elephant sightings range from a mere 100to an astounding 700. The central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 3 rd century AD by KingMahasena). This tank is generally known as a place to observe the elephants that come to bathe and graze on thegrasses as well as the huge flocks of birds that come to fish in the shallow waters.

Polonnaruwa Quadrangle complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A walking tour of the complex reveals the impressive ruins of an ancient city and one time capital. The highlights include the Vatadage, a circular relichouse with intricate carvings, the Thuparama, a shrine with a reclining Buddha statue, the Gal Potha, anenormous stone slab with ancient inscriptions, and the massive Buddha statues of the Lankatilaka and the Rankoth Vehera stupas.

All offer free tours of their gardens with an English-speaking guide who can explainthe merits and health properties of herbs, spices and plants including cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, coriander,coffee, nutmeg, pepper, cardamom, aloe vera, iriweriya and the henna plant. Not all spices are grown in a singlegarden, of course, since various climates and soil types are necessary for cultivation of the different spices. Thegardens introduce you to the different spices in Sri Lanka and their uses.

➤After breakfast at the hotel proceed on a city tour proceed to Kandy Temple of the tooth.
In the crown jewel of the city, Kandy is the famed Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Tooth. Thegolden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lankas most important Buddhist relic a tooth of the Buddha.
The entire temple complex, from peaked tiled roofs to white walls with large airy windows, is built using classicalKandyan architecture.
On completion proceed to visit the Kandy cultural show.
These classical dance forms are associated with the performance of various rituals and ceremonies which are centuriesold and are based on the folk religion and folk beliefs going back to times before the advent and acceptance of Buddhism by the Sinhalese people in the third century B.C. These rituals and ceremonies reflect the values, beliefs andcustoms of an agricultural civilization of Sri Lanka.

Tue 07 Oct 25: Kandy/Nuwara Eliya
➤After breakfast at the hotel proceed to NuweraELiya Approximate driving duration 01-02 hours) Nuwara Eliya can be reached from Colombo via Kandy, which is the gateway to the Central Highlands of the island.
Colombo-Kandy-Nuwara Eliya is the most scenic highland motor road of Sri Lanka. Though the city of Nuwara Eliya hasno Railway station, the highland railway line that winds past the city of Nanu Oya makes the journey by train one of the most scenic and memorable experiences. Nuwara Eliya which is at an elevation of 1890 meters above the sea levelis the highest city in Sri Lanka and it lies beneath the tallest peak of the island, Pidurutalagala or Mount Pedro (2555meters).
During your journey, make a stop at a scenic tea plantation to explore the lush green hills and learn about the intricateprocess of tea production. Walk through the neatly lined tea bushes, witness the tea-picking process, and visit a factory to see how fresh leaves are transformed into the perfect brew. Enjoy the serene surroundings and perhapssample a freshly brewed cup of Ceylon tea.

Kochi - called the "Queen of the Arabian Sea", Kochi was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of Indiafrom the 14th century onward, and maintained a trade network with Arab merchants from the pre- Islamic era. In1505, the Portuguese established trading ports in Cochin. There are still buildings like the Old Harbour House from thisperiod, some of which have been renovated in more recent times. The Kingdom of Cochin allied with the Ming Dynasty,Portuguese, and Dutch and became a princely state of the British. Kochi ranks first in the total number of internationaland domestic tourist arrivals in Kerala.

➤After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a full day city tour of Kochi city visiting Chinese Fishing Nets, St. FrancisChurch, Santa Cruz Basilica, Jewish Synagogue, and Mattancherry Palace / Dutch Palace. Jewish Synagogue is built in 1568, almost 1500 years after the beginning of the Jewish connection with Kerala. Itwas built on the land, adjacent to the Mattancherry Palace, given by the erstwhile king of Cochin. The synagogue, theoldest in the Commonwealth, was built by the Jewish community of Cochin.
Dutch Palace is also known as Mattancherry Palace was built and gifted by the Portuguese as a present to the kingof Cochin around 1545. The palace was built to appease the king after they plundered a temple nearby. The landing ofVasco da Gama, the Portuguese explorer at Kappad in 1498 was welcomed by the Kochi rulers. They were givenexclusive right to construct factories. The Portuguese repulsed the repeated attacks of the Zamorians and the CochinRajas practically became vassals of the Portuguese. The influence of the Portuguese were supplanted by the Dutch andthey took over Mattancherry in 1663. Subsequently, the area was taken over by Hyder Ali and later by the British EstIndia Company.
Later, proceed to visit St. Francis Church and Santa Cruz basilica. St. Francis Church Saint Francis Church, in Fort Kochi, originally built in 1503, is one of the oldest European churches in India and has great historical significanceas a witness to the European colonial ambitions in the subcontinent. This evening you will be picked up from your hotel and proceed to witness Keralas fascinated Dance show Kathakali Dance. It will take approx. An hour or little longer.

Sat 18 Oct 25: Kochi - Kumarakom (Houseboat) (Drive: 50 kms/2 hrs approx)
➤Breakfast at the Hotel. Later transfer to Kumarakom to board a Houseboat. Enjoy full day cruising on the backwater on Board. Lunch,tea / coffee, snacks on board the houseboat.
The backwaters and wetlands host thousands of migrant common teal, ducks and cormorants every year who reach here from longdistances. A major feature of the area is the region called Kuttanad, the 'granary of Kerala'.
