Day 3 - 4
Today head north to the coastline of Georgian Bay. Wasaga Beach is the longest freshwater beach inthe world and your resort is only a few minutes away so make sure you pack all your gear to enjoy aday at the beach. The crystal-clear waters of Georgian Bay offer a host of water-based activities. Youare also very close to the Blue Mountain Resort 257 kms to Wasaga Beach. Visit Blue Mountain Resort offering a variety of outdoor adventures including Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster, Scenic Caves Nature Adventures, cycling and golfingoptions.
Day 5
It is a short drive today as you follow the coastline and head up the Bruce Peninsula which separatesLake Huron from Georgian Bay. Your destination for the night is tiny Tobermory so you are ideallylocated for the full choice of daily ferries to Manitoulin Island the next day. However, do spend theday exploring The Bruce Peninsula National Park where dramatic cliffs rise from the turquoise watersand large tracts of forest can be explored. If youre lucky, you may also see black bears that areknown to roam in the park. 185 kms to Tobermory. If you are a qualified diver, explore Fathom Five National Marine Park, whichoffers some of the best freshwater diving in the world with over 20 shipwrecks to explore.
Day 6 - 7
You have a choice of ferries for the 2hr crossing to Manitoulin Island, Spend the next few days onthe magical and idyllic Manitoulin Island. This is the largest freshwater island in the world so there isplenty of areas to explore with its hundreds of inland lakes and miles of shoreline. 80 kms to Manitowaning (including ferry crossing). Visit Misery Bay Provincial Park to see rare alvar(flat rock ecosystems) landscapes. Hike the famous and steep Cup and Saucer trail to the highestpoint on the island.
Day 8 - 9
Head off the island by travelling on highway 6 and crossing the many bridges that eventually link youto the mainland again and head towards Huntsville. On the way stop in Parry Sound and take theafternoon cruise onboard the Island Queen as she travels through Thirty Thousand Islands ofGeorgian Bay for a spectacular cruise with great chances to see marine wildlife. You have a 2-nightstay at this campground so you can spend the next day enjoying Algonquin Provincial Park, one ofthe biggest natural attractions in Canada. Spend your time hiking and canoeing in this vast andquintessentially Canadian wilderness full of towering pine trees, rocky outcrops and abundantwildlife. 346 kms to Huntsville. Stop in Sudbury and visit Science North with its array of hands-on displaysincluding simulating a miniature hurricane and tuning into weather-tracking stations.
Day 10 - 11
Travel east towards Ottawa, the capital of Canada. En-route consider white-water rafting nearForesters Falls and park up at Popular Grove campsite after a long day of driving. Enjoy the next fullday exploring this beautiful city, home to many galleries, historical sites and great museums. Stroll orcycle alongside the famous Rideau Canal, a focal point of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Siteand just absorb this bilingual city where French is spoken as much as English. Stay at the WesleyClover Park campground as it is only 15 minutes to downtown and public transportation is nearby. 322 kms to Ottawa. In this incredible city of museums and galleries, do not miss the very popularRoyal Canadian Mint.
Day 12 - 13
After a few days in the city, its time to travel back into the great Canadian outdoors and along theOttawa River into The Laurentians range. Your stop for the next few days is the mountain resort ofMont-Tremblant. Matched only by Whistler in terms of scale, Mont-Tremblant will offer you a largevariety of activities including fishing, hiking, great canoeing and for those brave enough, the ViaFerrata du Diable. 152 kms to Mont-Tremblant National Park. Visit Montebello en route and see the worlds largest logbuilding at the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello.
Day 14
Drive the 128 kms back to Montreal to return your motorhome to the Cruise Canada depot. If youhave the time, we would certainly suggest a few days in stylish and multicultural Montreal.
