Rainier National Park, and the aptly named Paradise. Includes pickup and drop-off from select downtown Seattle and airport hotels for your convenience.

Day 4: Seattle, Washington, US
Seattle, the "Emerald City," grew from a pioneer settlement at Alki Point in 1851 into the primary gateway for the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush. This boom period defined the city's character, fueling its rise as a major Pacific trading hub. Before boarding the Noordam, explore the Pike Place Market, one of the oldest public farmers' markets in the US, or visit the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park in Pioneer Square. The skyline, featuring the iconic Space Needle, provides a striking backdrop as you depart through the picturesque Puget Sound toward the wild north.

Day 5: At Sea
Your first day at sea is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the Noordams musical soul. Visit the Lincoln Center Stage for world-class chamber music or head to the Billboard Onboard lounge to hear live musicians play chart-topping hits. For relaxation, the Greenhouse Spa & Salon offers thermal suites and hydrotherapy treatments. As the ship glides north, take a stroll on the teak promenade deck or visit the Explorations Cafe to browse maritime books with a specialty coffee, enjoying the anticipation of the wild Alaskan and Canadian coastlines ahead.

Day 6: Ketchikan, Alaska, US
Known as the "Salmon Capital of the World," Ketchikan was built on the fishing and timber industries that sustained the Tlingit and Haida people for millennia. Historically, its economy centered on the bustling canneries and the colorful, stilted boardwalk of Creek Street, once the town's red-light district. You must visit Totem Bight State Park or Saxman Native Village to see one of the world's largest collections of standing totem poles. Watching the salmon jump in the creek or exploring the Misty Fjords National Monument by floatplane provides a raw look at Alaska's untamed beauty.

Day 7 & 8: Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada
Prince Rupert is situated on the traditional territory of the Tsmsyen People, who have inhabited these shores for over 10,000 years. The city was founded in 1910 as the intended western terminus of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. You should visit the Museum of Northern British Columbia, housed in a stunning Northwest Coast longhouse, to see ancient ceremonial artifacts. A short trip to the North Pacific Cannery National Historic Site offers a glimpse into the 19th-century fishing industry. The ports deep, mist-shrouded harbor serves as a tranquil gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest and its elusive wildlife.

Day 9: Scenic Cruising Grenville Channel
As the Noordam navigates the Grenville Channel, you will experience one of the most intimate stretches of the Inside Passage. This narrow, cliff-lined waterway is less than a quarter-mile wide at its tightest point, making you feel as though you could reach out and touch the towering forested mountains. Historically, these calm, protected waters were used by steamboats during the Gold Rush. Keep a keen eye on the shorelines for black bears foraging on the banks and bald eagles perched in the ancient Sitka spruces that line this dramatic, fjord-like passage.

Scenic Cruising Bella Bella
Cruising past Bella Bella (Waglisla), you are viewing the ancestral home of the Heiltsuk First Nation. This remote community is the largest on British Columbia's central coast and serves as a vital hub for the Great Bear Rainforest. The area is rich in biodiversity, famously home to the rare Spirit Bear (Kermode bear) and sea wolves. As you sail through the Lama Passage, you can see the town arrayed along the shore with the Dryad Point Lighthouse standing guard. This stretch offers a profound connection to a landscape where ancient Indigenous traditions and pristine nature remain deeply intertwined.

Scenic Cruising Johnstone Strait
Johnstone Strait is a 100 km-long glacier-carved channel and a legendary haven for marine life. It is world-renowned as a primary feeding ground for resident orcas during the summer months, attracted by the abundant salmon runs. The strait was named by George Vancouver for James Johnstone, the master who first charted these waters in 1792. From the deck, you may also spot humpback whales, minke whales, and Dall's porpoises. The misty mountain peaks and rugged, uninhabited islands along its banks provide a spectacular, wild panorama that remains largely untouched by modern development.

Transit the Seymour Narrows
Transiting the Seymour Narrows is a thrilling highlight of the journey. This 5-kilometer section of Discovery Passage is famous for its powerful tidal currents that can reach speeds of 15 knots. Historically, it was feared as one of the most dangerous stretches of water in the world due to Ripple Rock, an underwater mountain that sank over 100 vessels before being removed in a massive 1958 explosion, the largest non-nuclear blast in North American history. Today, the Noordam waits for the turn of the tide to safely navigate this narrow, swirling gap between Vancouver Island and the mainland.

Day 10: Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, Canada
Nanaimo evolved from a 19th-century Hudson's Bay Company coal mining outpost into the "Harbour City." The historic Bastion, an octagonal wooden fort built in 1853, still stands as a sentinel over the waterfront. You can stroll the scenic Harbourfront Walkway, visit the Old City Quarter for artisan boutiques, or take a short ferry to Saysutshun (Newcastle Island) for a nature walk in a sacred Snuneymuxw site. Don't leave without trying the world-famous Nanaimo Bar, a triple-layered chocolate treat that originated here in the 1950s and has since become a Canadian culinary icon.

Day 11: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, was founded in 1843 as a trading post and named after the reigning Queen. It remains the most "British" city in North America, evidenced by its double-decker buses and afternoon tea traditions. You must see the Inner Harbour, home to the majestic Empress Hotel and the ivy-clad Legislative Buildings. A visit to the world-renowned Butchart Gardens, a former limestone quarry transformed into a floral masterpiece, is essential. Walking through Canada's oldest Chinatown or exploring the Royal BC Museum offers a deep dive into the region's rich colonial and indigenous past.

Day 12: Seattle, Washington, US
Your voyage concludes as the Noordam returns to the Puget Sound. Before heading home, consider a final stop at the Museum of Flight or a walk through the Olympic Sculpture Park for a dose of modern art with a view of the mountains. If you have extra time, visit the Ballard Locks to watch boats navigate the transition between salt and fresh water, much like your ship has done throughout the week. As you depart, you carry with you a wealth of memories from the totem-lined shores of Alaska to the historic garden streets of Victoria.
