Introduction
Marinas, docks, piers and a ferry terminal work the ocean waters of this coastal city, ' The Salmon Capital of the World ', drawing international attention from dignitaries, sports stars, politicians, and 'regular joes', like me and some of you, of the sports fisherman world.
Campbell River BC looks out at Quadra Island separating the Strait of Georgia into Discovery Passage where the cruise ships play and the fish stay.
Keeping it's small town feel and hospitality this beach community is complimented by such things as the coastal ocean front 'Seawalk'; the many activities and attractions from the midnight ocean breezes on Discovery Pier, river fishing in the Campbell River, or trolling Cape Mudge for your next rod and reel experience. Many fishing opportunities available in this ocean playground.
For the landlubber, the shopping and walking of downtown Campbell River offers scenery when one wonders off the beaten track to shopping opportunities in the art, culture, and modern-day stores and bistros. More adventures await out of town like snow skiing or boarding at Mt. Washington, exploring neighboring Elk Falls Provincial Park, walking Beaver Lodge Forest Lands or hiking/backpacking the rugged wilderness of Strathcona Provincial Park.
